The Second Annual Bluegrass Craft Beer Festival is coming back to Lexington, KY. Beer lovers mark your calendars for May 8th, 2010. The Brewer’s of Central Kentucky (BOCK) together with the Red Mile are organizing a Craft Beer Festival to be held on the second Saturday in May at the Red Mile Racetrack. Over 100 varieties of Craft Beers will be available for sampling, from hoppy American Pale Ales to spicy Belgian Beers, to rich, dark Stouts. There will be expert beer judges on hand to answer your questions and to lead formal tasting sessions with these delicious libations. Enjoy delectable food from Bayou Bluegrass Catering, such as Award Winning BBQ and Louisiana Jambalaya. There will also be blues music from G Busy Blue’s Review to round out an entertaining evening taking place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Think you can make a brew as good as the professionals? Now is your chance. During the day, tasting experts will be judging a homebrew competition for all beer styles. Winners for each style and the best overall will be made known at the festival. For those of you who are new brewers or would like to know more, contact the BOCK club at their website, www.bockbrew.com or contact Bayou Bluegrass Catering at 859-233-0814.
